The Trip Across the World

Flying anywhere can be a drag, especially when you get jet lag! The day you arrive in this new land you are torn between enjoying the new sites or going up to your hotel room and taking a long nap. Pop a few caffeine pills and you’ll be good. I have jet lag even flying a couple states to the East – I can’t imagine how horribly tired I’d be if I flew halfway across the world. I prefer to drive if I am going on a trip anywhere in the states. I just prefer not to get jet lag while I am traveling.

Renting a car form an airport although can be convenient, is often enough considerably more expensive than renting the same car for the nearest town; it can be as much as 2/3rds cheaper! At present to cost of rental cars is increasing because the companies are not buying in as many due to the recession and so prices are being driven up due to the resultant increase in demand on the ones left. So why so much difference? Well, the car rental companies have to rent out very expensive areas of airport land, or have to run minibuses to where the cars are held, there are airport taxes, and of course the rental car company is going to charge youa premium for your convenience! So do whatever you can to reduce the cost; book early, use car coupons and claw some money back!

If you are looking at that 2 weeks in the sun as your treat for the summer or even the year the last thing you want is to find you cannot get a car! So rule number one is to make sure you book early; preferably using a special deal like rental car coupons. Ideally a booking that allows you to cancel closer the time if you should find a cheaper deal but at least you have secured a car! As you can imagine that the summer holiday time is peak and the car rental companies especially in a recession can run out of vehicles quite easily.

The Mount Kilimanjaro airport is the second airport in Tanzania and is about forty five minutes to one hour away from the town of Moshi which is at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. Called the International Airport, it has facilities to exchange money, buy souvenirs and eat in its one restaurant. If you have not made plans in advance the airport has a private bus that will take you to the town of Moshi. The nearest bus would be a walk of five miles to the main road. There are no taxies available at the airport. Although the airport is not a very big one it has a long runway and is located in a sparsely populated area, and can accommodate planes that are as big at 747’s.

It is suggested that all plans be made in advance and should include the visa, tour operators and transportation to and from the tourists destinations.

It really ended up being such an ideally suited vacation location, and something I absolutely wont forget in a hurry. I have in any case started to prepare my personal getaway back to the Greek Islands accompanied by a buddy the coming year and trust this can feel even better compared to the 1st occasion! If you like the rush of adrenaline as you ride your board down a wave and gathering speed each time from the downward movement then surfing in the Maldives would be a really exciting and breath taking experience. The Maldives is said to have almost the same surfing season as in Indonesia.
The best way to have the most fun during your surfing holiday in the Maldives would be to arrange yourself on a charter, which can be arranged by the resort and the best spot to surf in the Maldives would be the South, where it is less crowed and you can get some awesome classic waves for you to ride your board on and break the ocean wave. Going on a cruise is the other option if you can’t arrange a charter. Get more information on Maldives! Maldives
